How to Launch a Web Site

A Tutorial

No matter what kind of web site you want to create, one thing is constant: You want people to find it and read it! This is true whether you are creating an informational site, an advocate site, an e-commerce site, or a club site.

This tutorial is designed to help you create a web presence, no matter what your specific goals are.

Seven Steps to Launching Your Web Site

  1. Get a Domain Name
It may feel like you are getting ahead of yourself, but if you want your own domain name, get it NOW. Every day you wait is a day when someone else might get the name you want!

  2. Develop Your Content
Here are some great hints and tips on making an effective web site that people will find easy to use and that will make them want to come back.

  3. Get a Web Host
Unless you plan to host your web site on your own server, you are going to need a home for your web site. There are a lot of choices (the competition keeps prices down), and we'll help you make the right choice for you.

  4. Get into Google
... and other search engines. If you want to be found, you need to get some visibility in the most popular search engines, and we can help you do just that.

  5. Advertise Your Web Site
If you are willing to spend a little money, we'll show you how to drive people to your web site for just pennies per click.

  6. Improve Your Google Page Rank
Getting into a search engine is one thing, but getting a high position in the search results is another story. Finding other like-minded web sites who are willing to link to your site not only sends people to your site-- it also improves your ranking in Google and other search engines.

  7. Generate Some Income
Okay, you've got your site up and running, but you're finding out it's a bit of a financial drain (e.g. hosting fees, domain name registration, some advertising). Here are a few ways to make some of that back, and more!
